Holiday homes in San Fratello

Casa Serafina and Casa Marta
From the Nebrodi Mountains to the Sea
Casa Serafina and Casa Marta are two holiday homes in the heart of the historic center of the village of San Fratello, in a privileged position perfectly central between the nature trails of the Nebrodi and the beaches of the Tyrrhenian coast that go from Capo d'Orlando to Cefalù.
They are two family homes that we have transformed into a welcoming space for those looking for a relaxing break and a journey through the places of a lesser-known Sicily.
Casa Serafina
Casa Serafina is the house where our grandmother Serafina was born. A simple home, where some objects recall the history of our family and where you too can rediscover the domestic and intimate dimension of the small village. Equipped with every comfort and centrally located for convenient exploration of the surrounding area.
Casa Marta
Furnished with vintage objects dating back to the 1970s, Casa Marta is the house where we spent our summer holidays every year when we were children. A family home with all the comforts, where the view and the fresh air that comes from the woods of the Nebrodi park are unparalleled.
All the rooms are spacious and all have a window overlooking the roofs of the historic center, or the Miraglia forest, where you can take a walk in an extraordinary naturalistic context where the animals still graze wildly. In the double bedroom there is also a balcony where you can chillout at evenings.
San Fratello,
between history,
nature and legend

From its superb, elevated, position overlooking the sea, San Fratello dominates the panorama up to the coast that connects Capo d'Orlando with Santo Stefano di Camastra.
The medieval village owes its name to the legend of three Holy Brothers (the martyrs Alfio, Filadelfio and Cirino): the Sanctuary built in the Norman era on the summit of "Monte Vecchio" is dedicated to them, a mystical place recognized as a monument of national interest.
Even today, San Fratello shows his devotion for the Three Holy Martyrs on the occasion of the festivity dedicated to them (which falls on May 10th) in which, around 200 knights, accompany the fercolo of San Filadelfio in a wild ride on the way to the Sanctuary of the Three Saints.
Another detail of the village will win you over: once you arrive in San Fratello you will immediately notice the particular dialect, it is the ancient "Gallo-Italic" (recognized by UNESCO as an intangible heritage of humanity) which makes the territory a true linguistic spot, combining Provençal elements , Piedmontese, Ligurian, Lombard and Emilian, in the heart of Sicily. Its origin is due to the repopulation of the area during the Norman kingdom by Lombard, Piedmontese, Ligurian and Emilian populations following Count Ruggero d'Altavilla during the conquest of Sicily.
Sea, trekking,
folklore and horses
The proximity to the sea is not the only reason of attraction for tourists who continue to visit the village: the splendid, still uncontaminated forest that surrounds San Fratello attracts hikers, enthusiasts and mushroom pickers in summer and autumn, while the nearby Nebrodi Park offers the opportunity to experience snow in Sicily, as well as trekking itineraries and breathtaking views in all seasons.
Known for its powerful horses - the famous Sanfratellani -, the village hosts the Mediterranean Horse Fair every year, a fair but also a tale of the Sicilian equestrian tradition and an opportunity to experience a different interpretation of the territory.
Just two kilometers from the town, it is also still possible to visit the archaeological area of Ancient Apollonia dating back to the Hellenistic-Roman era.
San Fratello is also famous for the ancient feast of the Jews, one of the most characteristic representations of Holy Week in Sicily, a show between sacred and profane in which hundreds of men of all ages dressed as "Jews" and equipped with trumpets, joyfully follow the liturgical celebrations.
Casa Serafina and Casa Marta are also partners in solidarity projects in the area.

For 2024 we will allocate part of the rental of the houses to the "NoLimits Al di la del muro" association of Capo d'Orlando, which develops projects dedicated to people with disabilities.
